Walnut Ridge Ranch
Sam from “Walnut Ridge Ranch” will take you for your daily rides exploring Bannockburn. There is a long history of gold mining here and she will tell you all about it. People used to ride their horses here searching for a job, and you feel like going back in time a little bit.
Her horses are a mix of breeds and uses English and Stock saddles. They are very well natured and have done a lot of Natural Horsemanship.

Host and Pilates | Holly
Personal trainer and nutritionist
Holly Howard is uniquely placed as an experienced personal trainer accredited with her Masters in nutrition. She uses body weight Pilates based exercises to encourages the pursuit of self-improvement and positivity, not perfection. She is an upbeat trainer with an uncanny ability to know exactly how far she can push you. Holly will guide you gently towards a strong physique and help stretch out those worked post riding muscles.
Holly has worked at London’s leading health clubs and hosted health and fitness retreats in UK and The South of France. She is excited to offer her skills and experience to Central Otago and create a retreat that combines three loves. Fitness, horses and of course Central Otago pinot.

We are delighted to have Gabi, a local Bannockburn chef and keen gardener as part of the Bannockburn Retreats team.
Gabi has 25 years experience as a chef around NZ and the world, and knows that our beautiful backyard brings so much to the table. Central Otago’s bounty of fruits and vegetables and artisan food producers are hard to beat!
Gabi and Holly have worked together to develop a nutritionally balanced meal plan. You will enjoy nourishing, fresh local and delicious meals that will provide all the energy you need to fuel the activities.
